Vinland Saga Deluxe Edition Hardcover Manga English

Makoto Yukimura's Viking epic, in the oversized hardcover edition it was always meant to have. Each Deluxe volume collects three volumes of the Japanese edition at 7 × 10 inches — nearly twice the page area of a standard tankobon — so Yukimura's ink work, his crowd scenes and his silences finally read at the scale he drew them.
Where the anime stops
If you came from the Netflix series, this is the part worth knowing: Season 1 covers the War Arc, Season 2 covers the Farmland Saga, and the anime ends at chapter 100. That is roughly the end of Deluxe Volume 5. Everything from Deluxe Volume 6 onward — the Eastern Expedition and the final Vinland arc — has never been animated. It exists only here.
What makes the Deluxe edition different
- Three Japanese volumes per book, complete and uncut, with all the original black-and-white art
- Exclusive colour art never before published in English
- An interview with Makoto Yukimura on the story's pivotal moments and how they were built
- Faux leather-patterned covers with historical Viking rune stamping, a different colourway per volume
- Original endpapers carrying a full-colour map of Thorfinn's world
- 7 × 10 inch trim — the largest the series has ever been printed at

The story
As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of Leif Ericson and listened to tales of a land far to the west — a place with no war and no slaves. A mercenary raid took his father and everything else. Raised by the men who killed him, Thorfinn grows into a terrifying warrior with one purpose: to kill their leader, Askeladd, and call it justice.
What begins as a revenge story becomes something far stranger and harder — a book about what a violent man does with the rest of his life once revenge is taken from him. It is why Vinland Saga is read as one of the finest manga of its generation rather than simply a good action series.
