Terms of sale
Terms of Sale
These terms apply to every purchase from OTAKUWA and sit alongside our Terms of Service, Shipping policy and Returns & Refunds policy.
Placing an order
Select your items, review the basket, and complete checkout. Before you confirm, you will see the total price, delivery cost and delivery estimate. Confirming the order places you under an obligation to pay.
You will receive an order confirmation by email. This acknowledges your order; the sale is concluded when we dispatch it.
Imported to order
Most of our catalogue is sourced after you order, from suppliers in Japan and China. This is why dispatch takes longer than a domestic shop and why our shipping policy quotes a sourcing period before dispatch. If an item turns out to be out of print or otherwise unobtainable, we will contact you and refund in full.
Payment
Payment is taken at checkout by the methods shown there. All prices are in euros. If your card is billed in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a fee.
Prices and taxes
Prices include Spanish VAT where it applies. Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to import duty and local taxes on arrival, which are payable by you — see our Shipping policy.
Condition of goods
Unless a listing states otherwise, items are new. Where we sell a used, second-hand or imperfect copy, the listing says so and describes the fault; buying it means accepting that described condition.
Japanese and Chinese printed editions are produced to their own market's standards. Slight differences in trim, binding tightness or cover finish between copies are characteristic of those editions, not faults.
Right of withdrawal
Consumers in the EU may withdraw within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, and OTAKUWA extends this to 30 days. See our Returns & Refunds policy for how to exercise it and who pays return postage.
Faulty goods
Your statutory rights under EU and Spanish law regarding goods that are faulty or not as described are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Disputes
Contact us first at support@otakuwa.com — most problems are solved quickly. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
