Vagabond Definitive Edition Hardcover Manga English

Takehiko Inoue's retelling of the life of Miyamoto Musashi, in the oversized hardcover edition VIZ built for it. Each Definitive Edition volume collects three volumes of the original series at 7 × 10 inches, in hardcover with a textured cover design and a ribbon marker.

Vagabond follows Shinmen Takezō — a violent, half-feral teenager who walks off the battlefield at Sekigahara as one of the few survivors — and the long, punishing process by which he becomes Miyamoto Musashi, the most famous swordsman in Japanese history. It is a story about what it costs to become strong, and whether that is the same thing as becoming good.

It is also, simply, some of the finest drawing in manga. Inoue works in brush and ink, and the Definitive Edition's larger page is the first English format that gives that work the room it needs.
